Curricular Micro-Teaching Reflection
Yesterday's micro-teaching was more challenging than I expected. I'm still nailing down timing and I was a little unclear as to the extent we should treat our colleagues as our grade 8 class. So "classroom" management got a bit chaotic as a bunch of overworked and overtired TCs played the role of 13-year-olds. With that being said, we had a lot of fun, but I don't know how effective it was in actually preparing me for a real classroom dynamic. In all, I was happy with my group's output! We had a fun, interactive activity, and an interesting real-world application example. We assumed that our class had already learned fraction operations, so we got to be creative with the summarizing lesson. The pre-work was evenly spread between members and we all had a role in the co-teaching aspect. In the future, I want to work on sticking to time limits... I might need to buy a watch!
